Billing, services offered, and how to get a rate quote
The Keck Center operates as a UW recharge center. Billing is based on actual instrument usage time. Rates vary by instrument and by user type — UW users or external (industry / for-profit) users.
Approved by Management Accounting and Analysis (MAA) and the Dean’s Office for 11/1/25 – 10/31/26.

Training: users new to confocal imaging typically need 2 separate 2-hour sessions; users with previous confocal experience typically need a single 2 hour session. Maximum 2 new users per training session. Long-term rate: the first 3 hours are charged at the standard rate ($75.38 / hr).

Training: users new to widefield microscopy typically need about 1 hour. Maximum 2 new users per training session. Long-term rate: the first 3 hours are charged at the standard rate ($45.41 / hr).
The IMARIS image analysis workstation is free for UW students, funded by the UW Student Technology Fee. The standard Image Analysis Rate applies for all other users.
